"Pffft. That's why I can't stay out for too late," Laura says. "Duh. Are we going or not?"
Leia
You arrive at the mall and find Mareena's shop is open. As you enter, she greets you while seated at a table covered in a purple cloth, complete with a glowing ball. As she stands up, the lights dim slightly. She gives a slight bow. "Welcome. How may THE GREAT MAREENA help you?"

Leia seems confident for once.
"Oh! Hello... I'm not sure if I want my fortune told yet, but I was wondering if I can ask questions about fortune telling as a whole...
Let's say you make a prediction... It should come true, right? But what happens if the person who received your prediction does everything to counter it and actually manages to make it untrue?"

"Say, if THE GREAT MAREENA predicts tomorrow would be a good day to study but you spent the entire day playing with your cat instead? If the prediction doesn't come true because of user error?" Mareena smiles. "No refunds! That said... it's harder to deny fate than you realize."

Floyd is convinced and jumps to his feet "We're going!" He declares excitedly grabbing half of the bags.

What effect would it have on the space-time continuum?"

Karl will approach his targets. "Hey, Lisa, keep on telling me that story you were talking about when you tried out. It was interesting."

"...Pass. We're here to practice for an upcoming tournament," Lisa says. "If you want to know more, just go play the game or watch the movie or something." She points to an arcade cabinet in the back corner. It's an older-looking lightgun game currently in attract mode. It looks like it's about some guy in space shooting a bunch of aliens.
Leia
"What is destined to happen will happen regardless of my predictions. Do not presume that creatures as insignificant as the likes of mere mortals can endanger the very flow of time itself with a few simple words," Mareena says in a mysterious, deeper-than-normal voice. She reverts to her normal, cheery tone in an instant. "If you want to try your luck at it, though, it's going to cost you!"
Floyd
Move to Home.

"So... So there's no danger to fortune-telling?"
Leia seems to think for a few seconds, then her face brightens.
"Can you teach me, please?"

Leia
"My, THE GREAT MAREENA has such a surfeit of potential apprentices of late. How wonderful." She crosses her legs and observes you, quietly humming to herself as she does. "Hm, hm, hm, hm, hm... Let us see... Yes. Let us see." She springs to her feet with an easy grace, then steps behind the chair at the head of the table. She pulls it out and gestures to you. "Come, then. Demonstrate your potential."
She walks back around the table and sits in the customer's seat.
Karl
You stick in a quarter and briefly try to figure out the game's UI. But the game has no mercy. It immediately throws you into the action, and you're dead before you can even really figure out what's going on or how to play. Lisa gets distracted from her game and glances your way. She frowns at the display.

This game thinks it can beat Karl? Well, it better think again. He's got the luck of the devil, the time of a no-life loser, and the pocketbook of an obscenely rich kid. This game is nothing to Karl the great! Focus, and triumph!

Karl attempts to solve the problem in one of the most Karl ways imaginable: throwing money at it until it fixes itself. Even if he's only advancing by a screen for every quarter, missing 90% of shots, and eating every hit that comes his way, he has more than enough cash on hand to fix it. After getting through one stage, Lisa storms over, so annoyed that even Karl can't miss it. "God, just..." She puts in a quarter and takes the 2nd player spot. And things immediately start going better. She's shooting enemies before they've even appeared on screen, deflecting every attack that comes... and outscoring Karl by orders of magnitude, but that's neither here nor there.

Leia thinks a little, her face seems to reveal somber thoughts, then she looks back at Mareena.
"I have two questions before I begin...
First, what you want me to do is tell you the future right? Or must I also talk about your past.
Second, my style requires paper... I'm not good with words, I prefer to talk through my drawings..."

Karl will try as hard as he possibly can to do his best, and will be pumping in quarters (mainly in his own slot but if Lisa is down he can put a quarter in her slot god that sounds really bad when I typed it out maybe just let Lisa have access to his coin pile yeah let's do that). It's quite enjoyable.

Leia
Mareena shrugs. "Talk about what you wish to talk about. You're the fortune teller, not the TEMPORARILY PRETENDING-TO-BE-AVERAGE MAREENA. I have some spare paper in my bookbag." She ducks under the table and you hear unzipping and rustling, then she reappears with a few sheets and a collection of writing utensils. She places them on the table in front of you, then returns to her own seat and stares expectantly.
Karl
With Lisa carrying you, the game becomes much easier and you're actually able to follow the handful of cutscenes. You manage to figure out you're part of some kind of marine team sent to a space station that suddenly stopped responding to radio signals, and after docking and exploring the entryway you end up fighting a bunch of escaped experiments and trying to save a handful of survivors. In the end, you fight some kind of ghostly hound-like creature that even manages to hit Lisa a few times.
Once the game's over and the closing cinematics and credits roll, you notice Lisa has the top 3 scores for this game, then Vivian, then Lisa twice more... and you didn't even break top 10 this run. Lisa looks mildly disappointed, then shrugs and puts her lightgun back in the machine. "Well, that was fun. Back to practicing for the tournament."
