---Chetwyn---
You're well hidden inside a bush, Paul quietly standing on your shoulder. The grass and leaves are rustling with the minimal amount of winds there is. You see a squirrel, which you're sure you're gonna hit, but that doesn't give you much food...
There's this Notewood Deer though... Right in the open... You have a perfect shot, but you know you're not killing it with a simple arrow... You'll probably have to chase it... Or fight it...
You could always be lazy and grab the berries right next to you. You could fill a bucket with them.

Use Vortex Trap on the deer to hold it in place and put a few arrows in its neck.

---Chetwyn---
You trap the deer in a spiral if wind. It's unable to move, as you approach it and shoot two arrows point blank into it's neck...
The squirrel flees into a tree, while you decide wether to bring the deer back to your cabin or go sell it in town.

Let's take it to town, the local butcher should hopefully pay good money for venison while still letting me keep at least a little of it.

---Chetwyn---
You drag the Notewood Deer around, it's easy for you. You pass by many trees, avoiding any signs of Tanglerose. No time to deal with that. You recognize them from the normal vines. This forest is basically your home.
Eventually, some wolf-like creatures come out of bushes... They must have smelled the deer... Now, there's no avoiding those, you'll have to get rid of them.

"Sorry, but I worked hard for this. Find your own prey or join it, your call!" Usually I'd take this chance to hop into the trees with High Jump, but considering that doing so would make it even easier for the wolves to steal my prey I'll just stick with Gale Shot on one GDH A while Paul uses Strike on GDH B.

---Chetwyn---
You shoot one of the gray wolves with a windy arrow. It pushes it back, making the creature whine. It strikes you back with a pretty weak bite. The second one seems uninterested in Paul right now, so it attacks you too. Paul tackles it with it's horns afterwards.
The first Howler still seems passive. The second one looks like it's getting ready to jump.

---Michelle---
As you walk out of town, you can spot a shadow disappearing into the forest. Might just be someone like you having to go through it to get somewhere.
You can hear some growlings from here. There's definitely something going on not too deep into the forest. You could easily follow the sounds.
Of course, you can always follow the path and make a beeline for the plains.

---Chetwyn---
The second howler lunges at you, but you knock it back with a wind arrow. It falls down and Paul defeats it with a Strike. The surviving Howler bites you again. It seems to get ready to jump.

Same deal on this one. Once the fight's over if the Day Howler's are dead I'd like to skin them and take their pelts as well, I don't think anyone's interested in eating them but wolf skin might fetch a nice sum of gold.

---Chetwyn, Michelle---
(Tutorial: Your character will forget any information from a monster sheet that isn't in his Compendium)
Michelle comes out of a bush to notice Chetwyn and some kind of parrot defending a deer corpse from some wolves.
Chetwyn collects the fur of the Howlers, then notices Michelle and her unusual demoncycle Note Beast. (I am not keeping track of ressources, but I consider that you have them if you want to do anything with them)

"Ah, hello there! These Howlers were after my quarry, but they were nothing I couldn't handle. All I need from them are their pelts, you're welcome to take anything else that catches your fancy. For now though, I must be getting back to Melodis. This deer is - rrgh - rather heavy, you see."
