The water mage waves back, says a few words to the fish, and starts walking your way.
Lagos thinks for a moment. "Well... I guess you could burn it. So could I. It would be fast, but I'm worried it could burn her, too. It would be safer to cut her out, but that would take a while. And I'm worried about whatever made this web showing up."

"Sigh I'm awake," a female voice calls back. "But I'm kinda stuck. I'm pretty tough, though. Ummm if you could just find my bag and throw me a birdstone I could probably break free. I think I dropped it down that hole."
There looks to be a large hole nearby.
"I'm fine," the fish lady says.
The other one nods. "It's a shame, though. I thought I'd finally found someone who could help me unlock my powers, and she turns out to be insane."

Paprika starts swimming back while Malefio chats.
"Oh, sorry. I should explain from the beginning," the water mage says. "After we woke up here, I ran into that lady. She agreed to train me, but when we ran into, uh... the faunus and Deep One, she kind of... went a bit crazy... Anyway. I'm... Ah, just call me Kira."
"I'm Glendova," the fish-person says.
And then Pappy arrives.

M: "Glad to meet you, Kira and Glendova! I have to go now."
Malefio hops on Paprika and they swim to the island to join Lagos.
P: "We have to get this girl's bag and it's down the hole."
M: "I see... We're not gonna just jump down there though."
Look for any way to climb down.

The hole is pretty sizable, even Paprika could fit through comfortably. The side has enough large outcroppings and ledges you can climb down with some effort.

You start descending into the hole. Lagos continues cutting at the web. "Yell if you need me. I can jump down in an instant."
You make it about 100 feet by moving between ledges. Paprika has some trouble going down quietly, but she doesn't make too much noise. You soon reach a large cavern. One wall of the hole descends all the way to the floor. Inside, you can see a very, very large spider with a vaguely humanoid face. It seems to be asleep. Several webs and a few cocoons are strewn about inside. A small shoulder bag is lying not far from the sleeping monster.

Malefio whispers to Paprika not to move. He removes fantasy mode to get back to normal clothes. Less noises. Malefio tiptoes to the bag.

The spider twitches some as you creep along, but you manage to reach the bag without disturbing its sleep.
The bag has 3 weird rocks inside it, as well as some candy and a brush.

Be sure that the bag is not stuck in anything. It if's in web, take the content. If it look free to pick up, just grab the bag.

You carefully examine the bag. It looks free, so you pick it up.
Paprika feels some a weak gust of wind and hears soft flapping. When she looks towards the source, she can't see anything.
"Hey! You OK down there?" Lagos calls.
The spider twitches slightly.

I assume that doesn't really make any noise, so Paprika will spit lava to try to illuminate Malefio so Lagos sees what's happening and that he has to stay silent. Malefio will continue tiptoeing, but will keep being attentive to the spider.

I mentioned the portal near the trapped bird-girl, right? Should be showing an underground chasm.
