Tai gives one of the cockiest smirks ever, looking extra smug. He taps his chest with his fist and makes a peace sign, stepping backward into the hole.

You drop into the hole as the doctor swings at your neck, cleaving the air where you'd been a moment before. The fall down to the next level is shorter... thankfully, because you land directly on Mattea as she's trying to climb out of a pit of something soft and squishy and slimy and gross. Mattea groans as you knock her over, sending her splashing face-first deep into the muck. A second later her arm shoots up and grabs a ledge as she drags the both of you over towards the ground.
A dim, red light faintly illuminates this room. Other than the octagonal pool directly in the center of the circular room, the walls seem smooth and featureless other than one wooden switch right in the side of the wall.
Mattea stands up, wiping her face but only managing to smear the goo worse. She gives you a glare.

Mattea shakes herself, but the slime refuses to leave. "That's... probably for the best..." she mutters. She picks herself up and makes her way to the wall, fumbling for the switch. She grabs it and yanks it down forcefully. Then she slips and falls over as the floor shifts beneath you. "Wha- oof..." The floor slowly starts to pick up speed, spinning in a circle as distorted music begins to play. And then a grinding noise begins to come from the outside of the room. "Oh, come on!" Mattea yells as she realizes they're starting to close in, slowly.

"Look for another switch. Or a hidden passageway. Rither that or they'll scare us by having it be a close call." Tai runs his ahnds along the wall quickly, looking for anything hidden.

"Fucking fuck!" Mattea yells. She tries to push the switch back up but it's stuck in place. She starts fumbling along the wall, feeling for a button or something. You do the same. But you find nothing but smooth wall. You assume Mattea does the same as she tries to brace against the wall. "Oh, my God. If they throw us back into that gross goo I am going to- FUCK!" With the slime still on her, she slips against the wall and slide-rolls along the ground as the walls push against her. Along with the distorted carnival music, it's definitely something you haven't seen from her before.

"Hey, hey. Calm the hell down okay? It's just a ride. It's no big deal. Here." He helps her up and holds her. Tai will push on the lever.

You try to scoop Mattea off the ground and she ends up dragging you down on top of her. Between the rotating floor, with the wall nudging you, and Mattea flailing around you struggle to pick yourself back up. Eventually you have to abandon the chance of getting Mattea up. You grab the lever and start trying it. Yep, it's stuck. Mattea manages to pick herself up just in time for the walls to shove the both of you back in the pit.
Mattea groans angrily as you stare up at the now smooth walls. Then you realize the both of you can stand in the pool. Then you realize you're moving. The entire pool is being shoved upwards into the darkness.
"Oh, come on what now? This ride is so awful, I hate it! Why'd I let you talk me into... shit, this was my idea, wasn't it..."
A few moments later, you're momentarily blinded by a bunch of lights snapping on. You notice you're standing in a pool of green gunk up to your neck, held in a glass tube colored the same as the stuff. A metallic lid is clamped firmly above, but art least a few small holes hidden in the back are keeping the air flowing, even if they're too small to do much with. You look around and see you're in another laboratory-looking room lined with several other tubes, though the others are stuffed with unmoving... what you hope are mannequins.
Mattea angrily slams her hand on the tube and it echoes loudly. "What. The. FUCK! I am NOT some fucking... FUCK!"

While you sit in your temporary prison, Mattea continuing with her rambling profanities, the door at one end of the room opens. You expect to see that weird doctor from before, but instead two figures around your size enter. It's hard to make out anything about them with the tube's tint.
"What the fuck?" Mattea asks.
"What the fuck?" one of the figure asks. You voice sounds familiar.
"Oh, yeah, this room is great. Really creepy," the other figure says. You think you know this voice, too. "The tint makes them look way more lifelike."
"Lifelike? You motherf- wait, Buttons?" Mattea asks.
"What? Wait, what?" one of the figures asks. He runs over to the tank and peers in. When he gets closer, you can tell it is, in fact, Buttons. He taps on the tank, making an unpleasantly loud echoing sound.
The other figure runs over and you can faintly make out Jimmy. "Whoa." He raises his camera and snaps a picture of you two.

"We've been scouting ideas for the Haunted House. Though things may have gotten..." He eyes Mattea. "A bit out of fucking control."

"Yeah, it's gone right to fuckin' shit," Mattea agrees.
"Uh, yeah. I'll say. I thought you were part of the exhibit," Buttons says.
"You even think about developing that picture and I'm gonna break your fucking fingers," Mattea says.
"From in there?" Jimmy taunts.
Mattea slams the glass and Jimmy jumps back a bit.
"So, uh... do you... just wait to be let out, or...?" Buttons asks.
"How the fuck should I know?" Mattea asks.
"They're not going to leave- hm?" Jimmy taps a panel just to the side of the tank. "I mean, this lever does say 'emergency release.'"
"You better fucking pull it, then!"
"Whoa, hold up. Could be a trap or something," Buttons says. "You haven't already forgotten what happened when you sat on the bed, have you?"
"E-er... Y-yeah..." Jimmy rubs the back of his head. "Besides, they haven't offered us anything to let them-"
"JIMMY."
"Ah, fuck it." Jimmy grabs the panel and practically jumps back as he tugs something. Some small holes open in the floor and the goo begins to drain out of the bottom of your cell. As it finishes draining, the tube slides up and into the ceiling.
Mattea jumps out faster than you thought possible. Without the tube obscuring the light, you see this room is the first well-lit place you've seen in some time. And Mattea is coated in thick globs of green gunk. She shakes her head, sending drops flying out of her hair and onto the floor and the others. You're already too coated yourself for it to matter.

"Yeah real fuckin' great," Mattea says, voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'm gross and sticky and wet and pissed."
"Yeah, well, what else is new?" Jimmy says.
"Got something to say, paperboy?" Mattea snaps.
"What?" Jimmy touches his head. "...You don't like the hat?"
The set of doors the pair arrived through slams open as a chainsaw starts revving and the doctor from before bursts in, waving it over his head and laughing.
"Ah, shit!" Mattea grabs you by the arm and runs towards the other doors. She shoulder-tackles straight through it and into another long hallway. Another set of metallic doors gleam at the far end, a set of lights above them and an up arrow to the side. "ELEVATOR!" Mattea drops you and sprints to punch the button.
As the far right light flickers out and the next lights up, signaling the elevator's descent, Buttons and Jimmy back into the hallway alongside you. The doctor makes his way towards you, slowly advancing between the tubes.
"Great, this guy again..." Jimmy mutters.
"She seems a bit, uh... wound-up?" Buttons whispers to you.
You look back to see Mattea mashing the elevator call button.

"I don't think she has much experience with these. Which is weird cause this was her suggestion, not mine. This one is kind of intense as hell, to be fair. Also, your hat's great, Jimmy, don't worry."

"Uh... Y-yeah. Hell yeah," Jimmy says.
The doctor hoists his chainsaw and revs it, drowning out the sound of Mattea's newly inspired button mashing. When the doctor gets a few steps away, the door behind you dings. You feel a hand - Mattea - grab you by the scruff of the neck and drag you back onto your butt. You fall over as Mattea starts mashing the 1st floor button. Buttons and Jimmy hop in as the doors slide shut. The doctor lunges the last few steps and jams the blade between the doors. It sticks in as the elevator starts moving, spinning to a stop as you rise. Mattea lets out a yell that gradually dies down as the chain slows.
"What the FUCK! That's... DANGEROUS!" she yells. "Are you shitting me? I am... GAH!"
She stops as a strong, warm wind starts blowing in from the ceiling. The slime slides off of you and Mattea, onto the floor and quickly evaporating.
Mattea scowls, silently, at the blade still lodged in the door.
"So, uh... I don't think we can do most of this," Buttons says quietly.
"Probably not," Jimmy agrees. "But at least you're having fun."
