Tai, Leia
Tai smashes the crab with a bat. It makes a satisfying 'crack' and leaves a small dent in the hard shell. It turns towards Tai, slightly, and slaps him with the thin arm. He goes flipping back, stunned and in pain.
Mattea walks up on the other side. "You gonna pick a fight with my boy-toy!? HUH!?" She smashes it with the tire iron and the creature lets out a gurgling noise. "Then you come into my house!? Bringing that weak shit!?"
It responds with a hiss, and grabs her with the other arm. It chucks her towards the bus stop. Natsumi yelps and jumps in the way to catch her. It ends up knocking them both over, but at least stops Mattea from crashing through the glass.
Leia looks around, finding several stones to chuck at the monster. She pelts it a few times, and the creature reacts to the impacts.
Buttons charges forward and punches the thing. Then grabs his hand in pain. "OW! It's hard as a rock...!"
"Really?" Kiran asks, before punching it as well. "Ow..."
After a few more seconds, the creature takes one last look around before disappearing back into the portal.
"Ow..." Natsumi mutters.
"Ow," Mattea agrees. "That was a 'great' catch... Well. At least you tried. I guess."
"You're welcome," Natsumi says sarcastically. "Would you get off me, please?"
Buttons finishes rubbing his fist. "Huh. Still. I hit that thing with my shovel. Hard. And it didn't even flinch. I thought it would be tougher than that."
Kiran rubs his head. "Maaaaybeeeee... Monsters are weaker in our world?"
Buttons looks thoughtful, then shrugs without an answer.
Mattea hops up, then pulls Natsumi to her feet. She glances over at Tai with a smirk, making sure he's watching. "Thank you, Natsumi. I really appreciate the gesture." She leans down and gives Natsumi a peck on the cheek. "It was very sweet. Are you OK?"
"Um. I'm fine?" Natsumi looks confused.
Kiran and Buttons both give Mattea a hard stare while she's looking away.
Mattea knows exactly what she just did.

Tai gets up with a groan. He rolls his eyes hard at Mattea, before smirking.
"Hey Kiran! Are you okay, dude!?" He dashes over to Kiran and examines him haphazardly. Tai pats him on the back. "You were great man."
Tai then turns to face everyone. "Well now that the shitshow's over, can we finally go home? Thanks for all your help and for not dying. I know I can be an ass, but I'm glad everyone's fine."

Kiran drapes his arm around Tai's shoulder. "Thanks, man. You did good, too. Brought Buttons back in one place. And that thing with the bat? That took some balls, Hot Stuff."
This time, it's Buttons, Mattea, and Natsumi that look a bit jealous.
"Now, what say we get outta here? As a group, not just you and me," Kiran clarifies to Tai. "This time, anyway."

With the monster back inside the portal, Leia slowly walks towards Natsumi and embraces her, probably squeezing her harder that she would want.
"Tha... Thank you Natsumi! You saved Kiran's and my life... Tha... Thank you... I'm so glad you're here."
She then lets Natsumi go and turns towards Kiran, smiling at him.
"You did good too, you know?!"
Then she looks back at the portal.
"I... I want to go home after all this... Bu... Bu... But... I... I'm not leaving until the portal closes..."

Tai yawns. "We dont know when it'll close. And if that or anything else comes back out I doubt we'll be able to continuously fend it off. It'll be fine, Leia. We all need some damn sleep, including you. This was my plan so I gotta make sure all of your asses", Tai winks at Kiran," get back home fine. So let's go for now."

Leia seems to look at Tai longly, thinking about the words he chose. A lone tear rolls down her cheeks as she goes back inside the car.
"So... Sorry. I... I understand what you mean..."
She sits in the back, waiting for the others to do so too.

Kiran pouts at Leia. "No hug for me, huh?"
"We can't stay out here all night," Buttons says. "The thing hasn't come out of its portal before we showed up. Or if it did it just wandered back home or whatever. We're all the way out in the middle of nowhere."
"The portal closes at sunrise," Natsumi reminds Leia.
"Sunrise?" Mattea says. "Hell no. We have school tomorrow. And I've got shit to do besides stand out here all day. Do you know how long it takes me to get ready every morning?"
"No?" Kiran admits.
"A long-ass time! What, you think this happens by itself?" Mattea sweeps her hand over herself. "A smokin' hot bod like this takes serious work, dammit! But the results speak for themselves. Even you two could be sexy if you worked for it." She puts a hand on her hips and glances at Natsumi and Leia.
"...Thanks for the advice," Natsumi says. "Sorry, Leia, but... If I'm not home by the time Dad wakes up, he's going to kill me."
"I already said I'm game to camp out anywhere, anytime," Kiran says.

Tai puts a hand on Leia's shoulder. "It'll be fine, okay? None of us will do any good exhausted anyways. We can share everything tomorrow. Let's haul ass."
Tai walks to the car without looking back, though he gives Kiran a slap on the ass and slyly grins at Mattea and Natty.
He unceremoniously gets into the passenger side at the front.

"Buh?" Kiran yelps.
Natsumi looks surprised at Tai's actions, her eyes widening a bit before she looks away.
Mattea raises an eyebrow and grins right back at Tai. Once he's in the seat, she mutters quietly so only he can hear. "He's cute, but doesn't really strike me as your type."
Buttons and Kiran pile into the backseat. It's already a tight squeeze as Natsumi peers in. "I'll just sit in someone's lap, I guess." She seems to notice Leia's expression. "You don't mind, do you Leia?" She doesn't wait for an answer and crawls in anyway. "Make sure you hold on tight, OK?"
"Don't worry, I'll take it slow and safe," Mattea promises. And then she stomps on the accelerator. Hard.

Leia is obviously offended by Mattea's insinuation on her appearance, which seemingly translates into sadness instead of anger, as tears start pouring out if Leia's eyes.
"Sto... Stop talking... Y... You don't kn... know what youyouyou're talking about. It... It... It was taken away from me..."
Leia holds onto Natsumi as she sits on her, as if she'd never let go.
"You... You... You have no seat belts, but... it's... it's okay. I'll... I'll protect you Natsu-girl... I'll protect you..."
As the car starts and Mattea goes fast, Leia holds onto Natsumi harder.

Mattea drops Natsumi off first. As she climbs in through an open window, her bedroom light clicks on. Uh-oh.
Mattea drives on, dropping off Buttons, Kiran, and Leia. Mattea teases Tai whether to take him to his home or home with her... before dropping him off.
You don't have much time for a proper sleep. You barely get a nap before it's time for school... which sucks, because you're all absolutely exhausted. Even more than after most trips into the Otherworld. Ugh. Dragging yourselves out of bed the next day suuuuucks.
Move to Newvit High.

Leia looks around, waits for around 20 minutes, looks around again, then will walk home, dragging her paint bucket on the ground.
She'll study for the rest of the night.
