You wait a bit, then decide to head home. Walking would take hours, so you just wait for the next bus.
When the bus arrives, Natsumi leaps off in a panic. She runs past you and sprints towards the portal, then skids to a stop. She turns and runs over to you, grabbing you by the shoulders. "LEIA-PERSON! Don't scare me like that! ...Why do you have a bucket of paint?"

The two of you get back on the bus. It's empty, other than yourselves.

"No, don't worry about it!" Natsumi says emphatically. "Dad and I... um... we had a nice chat. Um, well the one we had last night was not so nice. But it kind of..." Natsumi thinks for a minute. "Today's trip was... nice. It was good. And, um, I chose to come help you guys. Maybe Mattea twisted my arm a bit, but... Either way, you didn't really need it. And I understand being really excited to go explore it! We need to keep finding out where all we can go and about all the Guardians. But that place... it's so weird. And not normal Otherworld weird... O-oh, but, anyway. You don't need to do anything for me. Really!" She smiles.

Natsumi's mouth opens slightly, and a faint blush starts to appear. "H-how can you say something like that so casually? It's, um..." She quickly looks out the window. She puts her hands in her lap and fidgets for a moment. "So, uh... the, um... the m-moon's really... um... it's a nice night tonight, huh? Very... pretty." She keeps looking out the window, pushing herself back in her seat. Her hand lingers at her side for a moment. "I... don't really know what I did. But it makes me glad to hear that."

Leia seems to turn white, seemingly unable to look at Natsumi.

Leia looks around frantically, seemingly in a panick, but not the same one as usual... She doesn't seem like she wants to run away. She seems like she wants to disappear entirely.
"If... If I offoffoffoffended you I can... I can walk the rest... So... Sorry."

Natsumi frantically shakes her head. "L-Leia, it's almost a two hour walk home...!" She puts her hands back in her lap, looks out the window again, and seems to shrink. You can see her face turning red while she looks away. "It's just embarrassing for you to... p-praise me so much? Lots of people have, um, empathy and stuff! I haven't really done anything special, so...! I mean, I just did what anyone should... Wh-why would someone not... be nice to you? You're, um, nice?"
Natsumi's hiding it a lot better than you are, but you get the idea she might actually be kind of freaking out, too.

Leia looks straight ahead, at the back of the bus bench that's in front of her and Natsumi, with a blank stare. She's still white, but somehow, she speaks calmly, without stuttering this time.
"After the incident, I naturally had a few months off school. But I eventually had to go back to school. We have to learn even after such a tragedy you know?! Well, I came back, but things were different. I was the sole survivor of the shoo..."
Leia swallows, then continues.
"Sorry. I was the sole survivor of "the incident". Well, I wasn't met with empathy like you have. People were either scared of me, spewing bullshit like me being cursed. That they'd die if they stuck with me. The ones who didn't believe that stayed away from me anyway. God forbids they intervene. Maybe they were jealous that I was the one who survived, maybe they were just scared to be grouped in that curse rumor.
I don't know... I was not in their head. All I know is that you're not them. You, Buttons, Jimmy, Zack, Tai and Kiran. You're not them."
She looks down to the ground.
"I just forgot how to interact with people. I'm sorry if I was too direct and made you uncomfortable."

"That's, uh..." Natsumi laughs nervously. "That's, um... Don't worry. You didn't do anything, Leia-person. At all. I, uh... Don't worry about it! OK?" She laughs again. "I'm just being silly, is all!"
The bus rolls to a stop and Natsumi quickly slides over you and bounces to the front of the bus. She smiles, still blushing, and bounces a bit as she gives a small wave. "Bye, Leia-person! I... Bye!"
Leia and Natsumi reached relationship rank 6!

Did Natsumi just say wink? Is she starting to use emoticons in verbal conversations as well...?
