Somnis meets you at the Gleaming Mansion, just as promised and right on time. The two of you head inside.
"He-e-e-e-ey!" Somnis calls out. You notice she doesn't even bother changing with her Soul Key. "Hi-i-i-inoh! Are you here!?"
You take another look around. The portal door is set in the wall behind you. Two doors are set along each other wall, both on this floor and the landing up the stairs.
You hear a door click open and look up to see the giant bird emerge from the farthest left door on the upper level. "Yes? Yes?" It comes and peers down at you from the balcony. "Who is- Somnis! Somnis! It's been so long. So, so long!"
"Well, yeah! I had no idea where you and your place got off to! Or any of the other Guardians. You know how hard it is to cross between zones in this world now."
"Yes, now, yes, if you can't fly fast," Hinoh says. Hinoh stops chirping and looks over at you, cocking its head.

There's an awkward silence in the air as Dewey tries to figure out what to say, finally settling on starting simple.
"Hello again, it's dawned on me that I never introduced myself when last I... well, barged in uninvited. My name is Dewey, I'm one of Somnis' friends."
Dewey starts to reach out a hand for a handshake only to realize he didn't think about the fact that Hinoh doesn't have hands, leaving his arm half out there not sure whether it'd be more rude to reach out the rest of the way or draw back.

Hinoh bobs his head up and down, nodding. "Hello, hello." He drops down from the upper flood, landing silently. It's impressive for something his size. He stares at your extended hand, head cocked. Somnis slowly pushes your arm down.
"So, Hinoh, anything interesting happen lately?" Somnis asks.
Hinoh does the bob-nod again. "Yes, it did, yes. Fox and Katie brought some new friends, new. Also some enemies. Enemies." He glares.
"What kind of... Wait, were they wearing some kind of mechanical suits?"
Hinoh cocks his head.
"Um... Did they all look kinda like robotic beetle people? And all kinda the same, instead of the usual way people look different when they use Soul Keys?"
Hinoh nods.
Somnis glances at you.

"Yes, yes. Revealing outfit, likes shouting her own name. What about her, what?" he asks.

Hinoh cocks his head. "...What?"
"He says Mareena's weird," Somnis explains. "Is she from the Otherworld, or did she just find it? Or is she like me."
"Uhhhh..." Hinoh says.
"Hinoh, are you secretly Mareena?" Somnis says. Blunt...
"Am I... Am I Mareena?"
"Why was one of your feathers on her shop floor!?" Somnis demands. She whips out her phone and holds it out dramatically, as if presenting damning evidence in some cop drama.
"...Why is one of my feathers on her shop floor?" Hinoh parrots. He's quiet for a minute. "She plucked some of my feathers? And then threw them away, away? I could have told her they wouldn't be usable, usable, the way she took them. She should have told me what they were for, should have."
"A LIKELY STORY," Somnis yells. She seems to be having fun all of a sudden...

Dewey tries to bring things back to a more reasonable level.
"So you don't know why she would need feathers from you? In that case, I suppose we should ask her that ourselves. Her shop is probably closed by now, but it should be open again tomorrow."

"The mall closes at 11," Somnis reminds Dewey. "I dunno where she lives or anything, either... Hm." She turns back to Hinoh, cocking her head and stroking her chin. "HMMMM. I WONDER WHERE SHE LIVES, HINOH. DO YOU MAYBE KNOW?"
"Nope," Hinoh says. "Probably wanted my feathers to craft something, something nice. Can't think of any other reason, can't."
"I can think of a few," Somnis says. "Decorations, maybe?"
Hinoh shrugs.
Somnis stretches. "Well. It's late, Dewey. I'm about ready to head home. And now you know the big, scary bird isn't going to bite your head off."
"Unless you give me a reason," Hinoh points out.
"Did you have any more really important questions that just can't wait?" Somnis asks.

"Well, that was fun. Let me know if you find anything else interesting." She waves before she heads off.
