Hmm... if he'll still need his brush when he comes back (and if Tabuu can't just make him a new one somehow) then maybe the one Zelda gets could somehow come from a clone without it vanishing along with them? Might be simpler to just go with the "he got a new brush" option, but that's up to you.

Oh and if anyone wants to join feel free to join at any time. Might be a little to late with the Prolong but you can still show up at the Subspace Emissary before the start of chapter 1.
On that note Chapter 1 is going to be just a straight up Mario based world. Instead a mixture of Mario and Sonic.

Unofficially you can make your ability here for safe keeping.
Officially you wouldn't actually get to use your new ability til Pixy and Co tell you how to use it.

Speaking of which I've updated my inventory and abilities. As a reminder Painted Sword Knight is just a reskin of Phantom Slash that fits better thematically (Phantoms haven't even been in a game that takes place in Hyrule, much less the same timeline branch as A Link Between Worlds), the only real new ability is Wall Merge.

So Fuzz and Mally I was going to send you guy to the home base when I got another PC over there (Crow is pretty close to getting sent over there).
Since I was going to leave you being addressed by everyone until everyone arrived.
