Classes

Ray will go grab Phoebe by the hand, his expression making it obvious that he's not taking this 100% seriously, even though he acts like he does.

"Follow me, please, we need to get you out of danger. Are you okay Darius? I'd need you to do some noise to cover my track..."

Ray will cast Nightshroud on the approaching assailant and try to walk away not too fast as to not just reveal his position by the noise of him running.

Ray

"Noise?" Darius says.  "Uh, yeah, I can do that..."

He casts Knock on the assassin's knife as she runs forward.  She struggles to hold onto it, then drops it when the fist slams into her gut, followed by another hook to the face.  "Sorry!" he repeats before she manages to grab his arm and kick him in the leg.  As he falls he twists and throws her into a bush, getting dragged after her.  The pair disappear out of sight, but you can still hear them brawling in the distance.

You take Phoebe and start running.  You throw up a Nightshade and keep moving up the path.  It slows the one chasing you until he's barely shuffling forward.  The one in the tree seems to shake of the Flash.  He looks at the two wrestling in the bushes, then hops out of the tree and starts running after you.


Misha

You fling a rock at the knife in front of you.  It bounces off his hand.  He yells and drops it.

"If they aren't part of the test then they're really trying to kill us!" Erin yells as she reaches you.  She gestures at the one you tripped before she can stand up, taking advantage of her being on the ground to summon a Tangleroot to grab her elbow, sending her back down while she tries to get up.  She doesn't bother slowing down and shoulder tackles the one you disarmed.  She and the thug go rolling.

There's still some distance between you and the one behind you.


Indy, Rishan

Rishan snags the one charging by the ankle and grabs his wrist with the knife.  With a quick twist you take it away.

Indy casts Soul Heat on someone.

The female thug recovers and runs through the Nightshroud to join the fight.  The one that tripped starts to stand up.


Selfless, Cantrelle

The second attacker growls and drops the knife, shaking his hand in pain.  He turns towards Cantrelle and rushes in for a tackle.

Meanwhile, Selfless takes off, jumps, and slams into the one still dazed from the rock.  The assassin gets sent flying, and seems to be down for the count.

The first rips his leg free from the Tangleroot and starts advancing on Phoebe again.

Satisfied to have taken his attention off of Phoebe, Cantrelle will place a Tangleroot in the second assailant’s way as she sidesteps to the right, taking advantage of the summoned distraction to swipe the knife he dropped off the ground and tossing it back and forth from one hand to the other.
“Ha, now I’ve - whoops, almost dropped it - now I’ve got your weapon! So, are you going to make this easy and just give up already?”
Cantrelle gently feels the tip of the blade, curious as to whether it’s actually sharp but trying not to draw blood if it is.

Rishan uses Telekinetic Shot on the fallen man's knife sending it flying into the woods moving forward to follow up on the charging assailant

Ray

You go charging back at the pursuer and attempt to tackle him while using Soul Heat on him.  You crash into his legs and the both of you go rolling... and then he very easily overpowers you.  A moment later you're underneath him.  He punches you in the face - hard, really hard - and gets ready to do it again as Phoebe rounds the corner.  The third assailant shows up and gets ready to join the fight with you.

The fist stops right against your face as Phoebe comes back around the corner.  "And, that's a pass!  You're probably dead, and your partner's not in great shape, but the VIP still escaped, so, pass."

Oscar seems to step out of a tree nearby.  Directly out of the trunk.  "Let me take a look at your face.  That was, ah, an... interesting application of that spell.  I'd say you get points for originality, at least?"

"Originality is a word for it," the fake assassin says.

He holds a glowing hand over your nose and you can feel the bleeding slow to a stop.  Doesn't get rid of the taste of blood, though.

Darius comes around the corner, already showing some bruises.  He rubs one of his knuckles.  "Well...  Didn't think I'd be brawlin' at the mage college, but guess it ended up provin' useful.  Looks like we won, huh?"


Misha

You fire two rocks at the chaser in rapid succession.  The first gets a groan, the second gets him to stop and fall over.  You watch Erin to make sure she's OK as you get some distance.  The lady remains stuck on the ground by a plant, leaving it as just the two of them.  Erin manages to wrap around the enemy, getting behind him and holding him tight.  She lets out a hiss and bares her fangs as you and Phoebe round a corner in the trail and see Niamh up ahead.

Phoebe pulls you to a stop.  "Annnnnnnnnd pass," she says.  She produces a notepad from her hat and starts making notes.  "Hm?"

Erin comes skipping around the corner, smile on her face and tail curled up at the tip.  "Oh!  Hey, Misha.  Good news!  We passed.  Professor Smith told me.  He's working on the, uh, assassins' injuries now.  He seemed impressed with our efficiency.  Or terrified.  Maybe a bit of both."

You can't help but notice a bit of blood still smeared on her lips.

Phoebe claps.  "Yep!  Nice job.  Find somewhere to sit and wait for the other groups.  I need to get back down for the next group."

Erin's grin widens.  "Looks like we weren't a half-bad fit."


Indy, Rishan

Rishan sends one of the knives flying into the woods.

Indy uses the trick with the spark to startle the one charging, but it doesn't seem to be enough to discourage her.  She goes barreling at Indy, but Rishan gets in the way and the two crash into each other.  She slices half-blind at whatever got in her way, and Rishan feels a sharp pain on their arm.

Powered up with Soul Heat, Phoebe continues to run up the path at a brisk jog.  At this rate, she should get away handily.

The one that Rishan disengaged, still without knife, punches Indy in the lower back.  He feels a sharp pain on his side and stumbles.  The one that tripped comes bumbling through the Nightshade as it begins to fade from the distraction.  The two of you quickly find yourselves outnumbered.

"Ugh... I had a theory that getting Soul Heat unannounced would make you just continue your current action, but faster...

I was wrong... It hurts... My face hurts, dude...

But... I knew this was fake from the start... That's why I even tested my theory...

Are... Are you okay though?"

Ray just stares at the sky and blinks, trying to get his bearings.

"Can... Can I just lay down here for a few minutes?"
