"This is a bookstore, yes. We typically restrict this section, but we have an agreement with the college. Not only do we let the students read, we offer discounts..."
You purchase your new book and head back to the dorms to read it. And sign up for new classes in the Main Hall.
Ray
"Yes, she would." Darius seems unamused. "...Anyway, we need to go sign up for next week's classes. There's a meeting in the Main Hall."
Cantrelle
You spend some time watching Iora splash around and enjoying the fancy park. This would be a great place to come read or something. Even with all the people showing up to give Iora dirty looks. Once evening comes around, it's time to head back to the Main Hall and sign up for next week's classes. You notice Alice has already signed up and left.
Indy
You wander around town for a while, telling Hero about everything you've found so far. It's kind of fun playing tour guide. Or it would be, if he weren't such a furry stick-in-the-mud about everything. So prim and proper despite his appearance. It starts to get old about the third time he rejects an idea to have fun because "gambling seems improper." At least he treats you to a nice dinner before it's time to head back and sign up for classes.

You head down into town, Erin eventually hopping along beside you, but not letting you slip away, swinging her hand in yours wildly as you stroll along. "So, where do we go first? Last time we went to the tailor so I could get some nice, warm outfits. I suppose we should go to the bakery to get some celebratory snacks eventually, but that should be one of the last things we do so it's still nice and warm. You should pick this time."

Misha smiles, thinking. "We should get something to eat first... I'm rather hungry. I wonder, does this town have any nice brunch places... I suppose we could ask around. Or just walk around and look."

Erin thinks for a bit, then shrugs. "I saw a lot of people coming and going from one little place last time. If it's that popular, it must be good, right?"
You head to a small but crowded building in the south of town. Dozens of people are inside, and a few waiting outside. It looks like a mix of locals as well as travelers. It takes some time to get inside, but you finally get a table. You look at the menu and see nothing particularly fancy, just typical simple foods. Erin frowns as she looks through the list, but orders a biscuit with eggs.

Misha studies the menu briefly, but soon orders the local specialty, clearly more familiar with this kind of food than Erin.
"Must be really good," she says, closing the menu. She smiles at Erin, a bit hesitant. "I don't mind sharing, if what you ordered ends up not being to your liking. This is the kind of food I'm used to, but it must be quite different from what you are. Come to think of it, I don't actually know much about your home, aside from the few things you've already mentioned. What's it like?"

The waitress looks at you, then shrugs and walks off.
"Well, our homelands have a bit of prairie where we get most of our food and stuff, but it's mostly desert. And the whole place is way, way warmer than here during the day, but it's actually pretty close to this cold at night. These clothes are so different from how I normally dress. Look - oh, I guess you can't see under the coat and stuff, but you can see a lot of tanlines from my usual outfit. And, ugh, all these stony roads and trails. They're such a pain to navigate, especially when you're used to sand that shifts under you so easily."
The waitress comes back, dropping off two plates of biscuits and eggs, though Misha's has a chunk of pork and some gravy with it.
Rishan
You arrive at the town to find it in its usual state, with the south a flurry of activity as merchant caravans are already loading up to get on the road early enough to make sure they're to the next settlement and out of the cold by nightfall.

Misha smiles. "I grew up in a large city. Aside from a few outlying towns and the forest I used to train in, and now here, I haven't been anywhere else. Your homeland sounds beautiful."

"Beautiful? ...I guess, if you like brown. The sand is brown, the rocks are brown, all the animals. Even the grass is brown. The sand just looks like brown snow everywhere, though at least it's more comfortable to walk in. You don't even need a blasted giant coat or heavy boots, so there's so much more variety of things to wear." Erin takes a bite of her biscuit and nods. "Mm. Yes. I don't think the desert is particularly beautiful, but the things and people in it are so much more interesting than anything I've found here so far. You aren't from around here, after all."

"Interesting, huh. Most would use the word strange instead, I think. Intense."
She gives a hesitant smile. "I don't like most people. Not really. Socializing isn't my strong suit. Pariah, sole daughter and heir to a family of pariahs. But, you, though... You're more my speed. I find myself wanting to talk to you, wanting to learn more about you, wanting to spend time with you."
She takes a bite of her food, chewing slowly, thinking. "I'm a very forward person. Shyness, demureness, was bred out of me by a very early age. That puts a lot of people off. I like you, Erin, as potentially more than just a friend, and this feels like a date... So, if that's the direction you want to take things in, that's more than fine with me. But we'll go at whatever speed you're most comfortable with."

"Oh...? Well, you are forward. Someone has a lot to learn about the desert tribe and how we do romance, but if you're not scared then I don't mind tutoring you." Erin gives Misha's shin a light, playful kick. "Should I take this as an official declaration of your intent to court me?"

Misha is quiet for a moment, thinking. "Courting, uh... Sounds serious. Well, sure, why not. I suppose so. And I just said I'd love to learn more about your tribe, and there's not much that scares me, so... Yeah, all right."
A very slight blush. "I won't ask you to take it easy on me- I can take anything you throw at me. But do be patient with me, okay?"
