Everyone

You make your way to the cafeteria to find a much smaller selection available today.  But you're too tired to care.  So tired.

Alice is sitting with a bowl of soup, a lot splashing out with each bite from her hands shaking so badly.  Hero takes a seat next to her, gnawing on a piece of roast beef.  No knife.  No fork.  Just claws and fangs.

Darius seems to be better off than most people, eating his salad like a normal person.  Balthazar, sitting next to him, tries to force himself to do the same.  But he occasionally slips and drops his fork, quickly grabbing it again like nothing happened.

Erin takes a seat next to Iora.  She leans back, almost falling from her seat before she catches herself.  She leans forward and rests on her elbows instead, occasionally glancing down at her plate like she's finally about to start eating.  Iora, on the other hand, lies on the table, head turned to one side.  She occasionally takes a bite of a fish clutched in her hand.

Gwen looks over the food and seems annoyed, but finally settles on some fish.  She sits and rips away at them, seemingly in an even worse than usual.  Fenian sits across from her, earning a wary glare.  He sighs and starts pecking at a salad.

Colette sits alone at the last table, no food.  She rocks slightly, then snaps to attention and looks around wearily.

Racheal

Racheal was more surprised at how much of a success it was. She never really knew she had any affinity for any sort of magic. Yet it does but her mind at ease that the summoning was so successful.

Racheal kinda of wants to get to know Colette better. But she also wouldn't mind getting to know Hero better or Alice.

Racheal will go ahead and sit with Hero and Alice.

Hello again Mr. Hero how you doing after today's lesson.

Hello Ms. Alice how did your lesson go today?

Ray will sit next to Darius.

"So.. How was your first class?

I... hum... I thought I overdid it, cause I launched myself into a wall, but apparently that was what I was supposed to do..."

Rishan grabs a plate of salad and a large bowl of soup he initially grabs two spoons but, turns and notices Indy has taken a seat so grabs a third spoon before walking to the table and setting the bowl down in the middle. He takes out a notebook and begins to sketch the Flash rune

Misha

"Maybe?" Erin says.  "I think she meant Red magic, but Magical Girls tend to use a lot of that, so kinda."

Iora mutters something.  Erin glances at her, then back to you.

"It's no surprise I'd have an affinity for Red magic.  I spoke to some of the local mages back home for advice before coming and they mentioned it's pretty common for tieflings.  We tend to be a li-i-i-i-ittle bit on the emotional and, y'know... reactionary side.  But for you..."


Rachael, Cantrelle, Selfless

"I am... fatigued, but otherwise doing well," Hero says.  Thanks for asking.

Alice looks between Rachael, Cantrelle, and Selfless, then holds up a fist.  "I'm... great.  Amazing.  Because I am... going to be the greatest Magical Girl ever.  A little... simple Flash spell is nothing."


Ray

Darius almost drops his fork, then carefully picks it up again.  "I don't... think that's what the spell's supposed to do..."

"It's not that you were supposed to," Balthazar says.  "It's that it didn't matter if you did.  As long as you made the spell work."


Indy, Rishan

Colette just pulls her hat lower and nods.  "Yes...  I am fine."  She glances at Rishan's book, but doesn't comment on it.  She doesn't even look towards the soup.


Everyone

The conversation quiets down as Hartmann walks into the room.  She looks around then nods.  "I've finished discussing with the other professors.  It seems you all performed adequately for your first day.  Don't grow complacent.  This is just a first step.  We expect you all to continue to improve."  And she's playing with her hat again.  "This weekend's test will be an analysis of your physical abilities.  You won't be using magic.  Next weekend will be the first proper evaluation of your aptitude as a mage.  That is all."  With that, she returns her hat to her head, turns, and leaves.


Misha

Iora lets out a low, continuous whine.  Erin hesitates, then pats her twice.  "It... will be fine."

"Shurm, yerbe fin," Iora mutters.

"Yes, I will be fine, so long as they I don't have to walk half-naked through the cold again."  Erin frowns.  "...I doubt they have particularly high expectations."


Rachael, Cantrelle, Selfless

Hero perks up a bit.  "Ah, a physical examination.  How nice.  A chance to truly demonstrate the prowess of my tribe!"

"And for me to show off how amazing I am!" Alice says.  "Unless you wanna be staring at my butt all day, you guys are gonna have to do better than your best to keep up!"


Ray

Balthazar goes right back to eating like nothing just happened.

"A physical examination, huh..."  Darius pokes at his some food.  "That's a bit more familiar to me, but... I wonder what kinda physical examination a buncha mages can put together?"

"Depends on the school."  Balthazar barely looks over.


Indy, Rishan

Colette sighs.  "Physical examination...  Obstacle course, exercise... Publicly?"

Misha gives a small shrug. "I'm not particularly worried, myself... I can run a mile in a decent time and I'm good at hand to hand combat."

Misha pauses for a moment before continuing. "I knew long before I showed up here that I'd probably have an affinity for Red magic. There have been a lot of red mages in my family. I'm relieved, actually... Means it should be a little bit more doable for me to learn both Red and White magic, even after I commit. I um... Well, I've had a plan for all this my whole life more or less... My family is depending on me to succeed."
